Concept demos

One craft, any world.

Watch one frame morph through five wildly different worlds — payments, music, travel, streaming, gaming. Not just new colours: a fresh layout, structure and personality for each. These are playful concept builds — affectionate parodies, not affiliated with any real brand — every frame live and morphing in real time. Tap a tab to drive it.

striplet.dev

Five worlds, five design systems — fintech, music, travel, streaming and gaming, each with its own layout, palette and personality. Affectionate parodies built to show range; yours would be designed from scratch, just for you. This is what art direction and a real design system buy you.

Oddly Satisfying

Don't just look at it — feel it.

It's the part you can't screenshot. A handful of little ideas I bring to every build — go on, poke around (works with a mouse or a finger).

Weight

A real button pushes back. Press it — it sinks under your finger, then springs home.

Spring

Flip it. Nothing snaps — the knob overshoots a touch, then settles into place.

0
Juice

Tap it. Every press earns a little burst of reward — small dopamine, big difference.

Magnetic

Move toward it and it reaches back for you — then springs home the moment you leave.

Depth

Drag across it — or on a phone, tap it and tilt your device. The card leans in 3D with a live sheen, like a real object catching light.

Elastic

Fling the knob and let go — it stretches with the drag, then snaps back with a rubber-band spring.

What I do

Six disciplines, one obsession: how it feels.

01

Web design

Marketing sites and landing pages that load fast, read clearly and convert kindly.

02

UX / UI design

Flows and interfaces that feel obvious, friendly and just a little bit delightful.

03

Motion & micro-interactions

The 100ms details — hovers, presses, transitions — that make a product feel alive.

04

Branding & art direction

Warm, characterful identities: logo, type, colour and the voice that ties it together.

05

Front-end build

Hand-built, pixel-true and responsive. It looks like the design because I make it.

06

Commerce · Shopify & BigCommerce

Storefronts that are easy to run and a genuine pleasure to buy from.

How we'll work

Small steps, no surprises.

01

Say hello

A quick, no-pressure chat about your idea and goals.

02

Explore

I sketch directions and we find the one that feels right.

03

Design

Screens, motion and the little moments, refined together.

04

Build

I code it for real — fast, responsive and accessible.

05

Launch & care

We ship it, then I stick around to help it grow.

About

Hi — I'm Ross O'Flaherty-Lane.

I'm a solo designer and front-end developer in Dublin — Cork born, and my family won't let me forget it. I've been making things for the web for over 20 years, ever since I built a site and forum for my gaming guild as a teenager and never quite stopped tinkering.

I bring a game-maker's eye to every build — the magic lives in the tiny moments: a satisfying click, a hover that surprises you, a form that just feels easy. It's only ever me, so you work directly with the person making your site. And when I'm away from the keyboard, I'm usually losing a board game to friends, chasing our two-year-old, or talking far too much about Pokémon.

Freshen up my site →
Every project starts with a real, clickable design you can react to — you only commit once you love the direction. No surprises, no pressure.
The promise

Low-risk, by design.

Hiring someone to build your site is a leap of faith. I work to make it as small a leap as possible — here's how.

See it before you commit

You'll see a real, clickable design direction for your project — not just promises — before the bulk of the work begins. If the spark isn't there, we shake hands and part as friends.

Fixed quotes, staged payments

One agreed price up front, paid in stages as the work lands — no surprise invoices, and you're never out of pocket ahead of what's actually done.

We only move on when you're happy

Each stage gets your sign-off before I build the next, and revision rounds come built into every package — so "nearly right" becomes "exactly right" without extra cost.

That's my personal promise on every project — if it ever stops feeling right, you're free to walk away.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

How long does a project take?
A Refresh is the quickest — usually just a few days to redesign and polish your existing page. A one-page site (The Spark) is usually 1–2 weeks. A full website (The Build) typically runs 3–6 weeks, depending on how many pages there are and how quickly we settle on a direction. I'll give you a realistic timeline in your quote — and I keep you posted the whole way through, so you're never wondering where things are.
Do I own the site — and can I edit it myself?
Yes, completely. Once the final invoice is settled, the site and its files are yours to keep. Full builds come with a CMS so you can update text, images and prices yourself, and I'll walk you through it at launch so you feel confident going in. No lock-in, no being held hostage for small changes.
What about hosting and domains?
I can set up hosting and connect your domain for you, or hand everything over to deploy on your own setup — whichever you prefer. If you don't have a domain yet, I'll help you pick and register one. You always keep ownership of your domain and accounts; I just make the technical part painless.
What if I need changes after launch?
Every project includes a short support window after launch to iron out anything that comes up. Beyond that, you can book one-off tweaks whenever you need them, or go with The Partner for ongoing design and build on a monthly rhythm. Either way, I'm an email away — I don't disappear once the site is live.
How much does a website cost in Ireland?
Honestly: anywhere from a few hundred euro for a template to €20,000+ at a big agency. Here, a Refresh of an existing page is €600–800, a custom one-pager starts at €1,200, and a full custom-designed site starts at €4,000 — all + VAT, all fixed quotes with staged payments. You'll know the exact price before any work begins, and it won't change unless the project does.
Do you only work with Dublin businesses?
Not at all. I'm based in Dublin, so local businesses get the bonus of meeting over a coffee — but I work with clients across Ireland and worldwide. Everything runs smoothly over email and video calls: you'll see real, clickable progress at every stage no matter where you are.

Let's build something people remember.
